What are Conversion funnel upsell pages?
Upsell pages allow you to offer one-time deals to your customers. They are used to sell additional items in the sale process of your main product. For example, if you’re selling a computer, as an upsell you might provide them with the option to buy a keyboard or more disk space. These pages can bring additional revenue to you if people decide to take the offer.
Conversion funnel upsell pages act as an optional sales step after your customers have already decided to buy the main product offered by your funnel. You can create upsell pages in the sales funnel and the paid webinar funnel.
The upsell page opens automatically once people enter their billing information on the order form. You can have up to 3 upsell pages per each funnel. They allow to buy an additional product that is added to your customer order without reentering payment information. After the clients decide to buy the product, they are automatically taken to the confirmation page or another upsell page (if used). If the client doesn’t buy the product on the upsell page, they will be taken to the confirmation page after they decline.
Upsell pages are only available when you use PayPal or Stripe as your payment processor.
What does the sales process look like with an upsell page?
An upsell page is an additional, optional step between your sales page and the confirmation page.
Your upsell page will be shown the moment someone enters their details on the order form and clicks the button to confirm their payment. Once someone decides to buy a product from the upsell page, they will be redirected either to your next upsell page (if you have more than one) or to a confirmation page with a summary of all the products they’ve bought.
You can have 3 upsell pages per each funnel. The pages will show in the order in which you’ve created them. To reorder them, you would need to delete the ones you don’t need and then recreate them in a different order.
How to set up an upsell page?
To set up an upsell page:
- Go to Conversion funnel.
- Click Create funnel.
- Provide a name for your funnel.
- Select one of the two options:
– Sell a product>>Full or Quick sales funnel
– Promote a webinar>>Host paid webinar (upsell pages can only be created on funnels with payment options). - On the page that opens, select your store and the products you want to sell in your funnel. In upsell pages, you can only select products from the same store.
- Choose your payment processor (either PayPal or Stripe).
- The funnel setup page opens, where you can build your funnel.
- Click Create an upsell page.
- Select a template or start from scratch.
- Type in your landing page name and click Next step.
- You will be redirected to a landing page editor.
- The pop-up modal will open automatically to allow adding products to your upsell page.
- Select the product to feature on your upsell page. Your upsell page closes as soon as someone clicks the purchase button, so it’s possible to only buy one product on one upsell page. You can have up to 3 upsell pages and sell a different product on each of them.
- When you’re ready, click Save and the product you’ve selected will appear on your upsell page.
- Each upsell page has a Buy now button and a link to decline the offer. You don’t need to edit these links, as by default they will take your client either to the next upsell page or the confirmation page.
- If you want to change the default behaviour, double click on the button or link and press the chain icon to display a new window with link editing options.
- If you choose to include a timer on your page, you have two options: a timer that counts down to a specific date and time, or an evergreen timer that counts down from the moment a visitor reaches your page.
Once the timer gets to 0, it will work as if someone declined the offer. It will move the clients either to the next upsell page (if you have more than one) or to the confirmation page.
- Once you’ve finished the design of the page, click Next step.
- After clicking Next step, you’ll be taken to the settings page where you can specify your page description, its URL as well as analytics. Click Publish to finish the upsell page.
Note: We don’t offer abandoned cart tracking for upsell products.
What happens if my funnel is already created?
You will be able to add an upsell page to your funnel even if it’s already created. This is an optional step that will be available when you go to the editing of your existing funnel. If you leave it unconfigured, it won’t affect your sales.
To add an upsell page:
- Go to Conversion funnel.
- Click on the name of your funnel.
- Click Create an upsell page.
- Follow the steps 8 – 19 from section How to set up an upsell page?.
You can click No thanks, maybe later to hide this section from your funnel. You will be able to show it later on if you change your mind.
