How to add and manage a text block on my website?
You can add text fields to create headlines or more detailed descriptions in any section of your page.
How can I add a text block?
- When in the Website Builder editor, click on the Add elements button.
- Drag and drop the Text element into your page content. Note that the editor will highlight the spots where you can drop it.
- Select the design of the text block from the layout library. Click on the one you want to add to your page.
Note: in the Themed category you will find blocks matching the global design of your website.
How can I edit a text field?
You can customize any text block on your website. To do that, click on the text block you want to edit to open the toolbar.
Text settings
- Type
Select from heading, paragraph or disclaimer. - Font
Select the font from the predefined ones or add your custom one.
Note: we support Google Fonts only. - Font size and Style
Choose the size and style of your text block. - Font color and Background color
Select the colors of the font and the text block background. - Alignment
Select the position of the writing inside the text block. - Line height
Set the height of text line. - List style
Create a bullet point or numbered list (available only for paragraphs). - Assign hyperlink icon
Select the text you want to add a hyperlink to and click on the assign hyperlink icon.
Select the type of link, add URL and choose how you want your link to open.
There are several types of links you can use. Make sure to choose the right type.
External page or website – use it to link another site with a URL.
Landing page – select a GetResponse landing page that you want to open.
Email address – add an email address that will be contacted after clicking the hyperlink.
Phone number – add a phone number that will be called after clicking the hyperlink.
Custom protocol – use to it embed protocols.
Document – add a file you want to open with the hyperlink.
Website – select another website created with the GetResponse Website Builder.
Current website – link the hyperlink to the current website. Choose the page you want it to open.
- Remove hyperlink icon
Click on the hyperlinked text and then on the remove hyperlink icon to remove the hyperlink without removing the text.
- Emoji icon
Click on the emoji icon to add an emoji to your text. You can use the search bar to easily find the emoji you need.
Block settings
The text block is a framed workspace around your text field with a Text label on the left. You can only see the frame after clicking on the object. It won’t be visible on your website.
You can customize its color, padding, border, radius, and shadow.
Absolute positioning
Enable this option to move the text block to any place on your website.
Note: we only recommend using this option if you have some unusual design that can’t be created in any other way. Using objects with absolute positioning can make your page less responsive on mobile devices.
Hide on mobile devices
Enable this option to hide your text block when your page is opened on a mobile device to make it simpler and faster.
