What is FTP and how do I use it? MAX
Each MAX² server comes with a free FTP account. FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, is a standard network protocol used for transferring files from one host to another.
FTP can be used to:
- import or update contacts if your file is bigger than 50MB (here you can learn how to do it)
- import blocklists or suppression lists
- import external segments
- receive custom reports (they are uploaded to the “Reports” folder on the FTP server). Note: these kinds of reports are only available in MAX2 accounts.
To access your dedicated FTP server, you will need the following:
- any FTP client that allows accessing FTP servers, such as CyberDuck or Filezilla, which are free to use
- access your FTP server at ftp://ftp.getresponse360.com/ for US hosted servers or ftp://ftp.getresponse360.pl/ for PL hosted servers (please contact support@getresponse-max.com if you’re not sure which server to use)
- your FTP login and password will be securely provided to you by our support team. Please do not share them with anyone.
Here is a screenshot from Cyberduck showing the data that you will need to fill in:
