GetResponse policy on cookies
Whenever you visit websites belonging to GetResponse S.A. or its affiliates (“Websites“) or use our mobile applications, GetResponse servers automatically collect information about the use of the Websites. This information includes, among others: (i) name of the domain and host from which you access the Internet, (ii) IP address of a computer or Internet service provider you use, (iii) operating system you use (such as Mac OS, Windows), (iv) type of browser (e.g. Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera), (v) name of the website that redirected you to our Websites, (vi) type of device you are using. This allows us to determine the date of your visit to our Websites, track your movements on our Websites and record the time you spend viewing particular Websites. This information helps us determine your browsing habits, content preferences and specific pages you visit.
Cookies and other tracking technologies
Like many other commercial websites, we send to your device one or more “cookies” (small text files sent to your browser that may be stored on your device so we can recognize you when you visit us again), as well as web beacons (tags), tracking pixels and other tracking technologies.
Specifically, we use two types of cookies:
- session cookies — these are assigned to the user during the login process and are automatically deleted when the user logs out or closes their browser. We use session cookies primarily to determine the login status of users of our services. They are used to allow our users to access pages visible only to them in connection with their use of our Websites or services.
- persistent cookies — are created in the user’s system/browser after the first visit to a given website or performance of a specific action. Unlike session cookies, they are not deleted at the end of the User’s session, i.e. when the browser window is closed. You can delete them manually.
We may also receive information about you when you visit our Websites by clicking a link located on a third-party website. Such third parties can give us contact information and information stored in the cookies they use on their websites. Third parties assign a session “cookie ID” to help you navigate on our Websites.
Except for cookies, we and our partners may use web beacons, pixel tags, or other tracking technologies on the Websites to help customize them and improve your experience, or in email correspondence. A “web beacon” or “pixel tag” is a tiny object or image (mostly invisible) embedded in a web page or email. They are used to track the number of users who have visited particular Websites and viewed emails or clicked on a link within the e-mail and to acquire other statistical data. They collect only a limited set of data, such as a cookie number, time and date of page or email view, or click, and a description of the page or email on which they reside. Web beacons and pixel tags cannot be declined. However, you can limit their use by controlling the cookies that interact with them on our Websites. Tracking pixels can also be disabled via browser and email settings to make them as restrictive as possible, so that external graphics are only supported with consent, and HTML emails are not supported. We may use this information for purposes including determining which of our websites, materials or emails are more interesting to users and to query whether users who do not open our emails wish to continue receiving them. The above-mentioned technologies do not cause configuration changes in the end device or in the software installed on this device.
Third-party cookies and tracking technologies
The usage of third-party cookies and similar tracking technologies (i. a. tags) on our Websites and within the Service takes place on the terms set out in the privacy policies of providers who generate such cookies or similar technologies. These third-party services are outside of our control. The providers may, at any time, change their terms of services, the purpose of use of cookies and other similar technologies. We share some user’s information with third parties to perform ads measurement services on our behalf, or for statistical analysis, or remarking purposes. We use Google services on our Websites, including the enhanced conversions service, to measure the effectiveness of our ads. The enhanced conversions feature allows Google Ads to access encrypted Customer data from an action causing a conversion, in our case such an action is e.g. filling out registration forms on our Websites and other activities, and then matches this data to our ads displayed by such a person. This helps us track which ads are useful and effective without the use of cookies. You can find more information about enhanced conversions here and information about how Google uses data as part of enhanced conversions here.
